Ansible Galaxy

Ansible has a community site where people can upload their custom roles. It’s is called Ansible Galaxy. Galaxy is similar to Chef’s community cookbook site. This is very positive for the Ansible community. Chef has a lot of community cookbooks, though they are not of uniformly high quality. If Galaxy can provide high quality roles for the most Linux applications (BIND, Apache, postfix, etc.) then I think it will do well.

Since it’s so new Galaxy doesn’t have many roles yet. I did see a few I want to try though. It is a great place to learn and get ideas. You can see examples of complex roles and techniques you may not have thought of. It’s worth browsing through the task files just to see how people solved different problems.
